A practical privacy summary for beta users
What Learn Microbes collects, why, and which services handle it. We do not sell your data.
Account data
When you sign in, we store your email address, profile, bookmarks, Learn progress, and quiz attempts so your study activity follows your account. On the quiz leaderboard, which only signed-in learners can see, you appear under a display name only if you choose one; otherwise you are shown as "Learner" and your rank.
Authentication
Accounts are handled by Supabase. Google sign-in is available, and password resets are sent to the email address on your account.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which pages and tools are used, such as page views, quizzes started, and visual cards opened. Google Analytics uses cookies and records your device, browser, approximate location, and how you reached the site. We do not send your name or email address to Google Analytics.
Stored in your browser
Your sign-in session and study settings, such as streaks and missed questions, are saved in your browser, and the site caches its own files so it loads faster and works offline. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Other services
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, account data is stored with Supabase, fonts load from Google Fonts, and Support links open Ko-fi. Each of these services has its own privacy policy.
Feedback, contact, and deletion
If you send feedback or email Learn Microbes, we use what you share to respond and improve the site. To get a copy of your account data or have it deleted, email learnmicrobes@outlook.com.
